Fall Programming & Popportunities at Starlight Square

Posted: Oct 14, 2020

Starlight Square, Central Square BID’s placekeeping initiative with Flagg Street Studio, has announced new programming and “popportunities” for fall! What was originally a parking lot at 84 Bishop Allen Drive has been transformed into a place for people, bringing our beloved Cultural District outside during these unprecedented times.

Classes and performances are hosted by partners like the Central Square Theater, Dance Complex, ImprovBoston, Global Arts Live, Studio at 550, and more. Tickets are free, and safety precautions include required pre-registration to manage capacity and contact tracing.

October offers a packed few weeks of programming, including (but not limited to!) various dance classes, farmers markets, yoga, job fairs, theatrical performances, live music, and Halloween events. There’s certainly something for everyone, children and families included. You can view the entire schedule and ticketing information here.

Another wonderful thing about the space is the small business “popportunity” initiative. The BID has partnered with Reevx Labs™ by Berkshire Bank on Popportunity, an initiative to support small businesses at Starlight. This open-air market — running every Saturday in October from 11:00am to 4:00pm (with the exception of 10/10) — provides space for local businesses and entrepreneurs to meet their customers and sell products safely. Any businesses interested in vending can learn more here.
